Oligopoly and Monopoly by Bob Atkinson

Oligopoly and Monopoly
(c)2010 Bob Atkinson

there are many ways
we can organize ourselves
tell others what to do
or go where wind takes our sails

in the natural order of things
the structure of our lives
which way we should move
by biology is highly organized

not a true thought process
or some such political monopoly
it is nature's form we are driven by
when we spout our philosophies

fanning to the left
fanning to the right
our moves, in the short,
aren't without hindsight

of those who went before us
and suffered in their lot
for ideas that others thrust upon
people when their minds were open

wars were waged, people burned
because of little brains
that were fed dogma's old
on which there's no defense

and also fed into the fires
that burned buildings of stone
were the hopes of future peace
so in our lives we could move on

not saying that there isn't
merit in their words
just that they use them to deceive
ourselves when they are heard

the plan should be one of progress
opportunity to succeed
not giving sustenance
to those without need

it should be left to others
when the enterprise is big
to not let it eat up those little
prideful companies
upon which egos are fed

oligopoly and monopoly
should be tested to fail
by giving all of us the chance
to put full wind in our sails
